“Te voy a Poner por Luz de las Naciones” (Isaías 49:6) Hoy la Iglesia celebra con júbilo la Solemnidad del Nacimiento de San Juan Bautista. En la figura de Juan se puede mirar la historia paralela de Jesús. En cierta manera celebrar el nacimiento de Juan es prepararnos a la celebración del nacimiento de Jesús seis meses después. Al igual que Jesús, la historia de Juan se remonta antes de su nacimiento.

"I will make you a Light to the Nations" (Isaiah 49: 6) Today the Church celebrates with joy the Solemnity of the Birth of Saint John the Baptist. In the figure of John, we can look at the parallel history of Jesus. In a way, celebrating John's birth is preparing us to celebrate the birth of Jesus six months later. Like Jesus, the story of John goes back even before his birth.

“El Reino de Dios es Como un Grano de Mostaza” (Marcos 4:31) Hoy celebramos el Día de los Padres o de todos aquellos que han hecho la figura de padres en nuestras vidas. Que dicha poder contar con un papá que es como un cedro majestuoso del que nos habla la primera lectura puesto que nuestros padres nos proveen consuelo y protección a todos los que hemos crecido bajo su cuidado. Cualquiera que hayan sido nuestras circunstancias, siempre podemos mirar a Dios, nuestro Padre Celestial, en quien vemos el ideal de todo padre ya que nos cuida, ama y siempre está dispuesto a perdonar.

""The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed" (Mark 4:31) Today we celebrate Father's Day or the day of all those who have been father figures in our lives. What a wonderful experience to have a father. A father is like a majestic cedar described in the first reading, providing comfort and protection for all those in its care.

“El Señor es Compasivo y Misericordioso” (Salmo 130) Qué bueno retomar los domingos del tiempo ordinario con este esperanzador cántico del Salmo 130 que nos dice que “El Señor es compasivo y misericordioso.” Muchas veces ponemos énfasis en las grandezas y prodigios del Señor manifestadas en los tiempos fuertes de Adviento y Navidad, Cuaresma y Pascua y de alguna manera nos descuidamos de poner nuestra esperanza en Aquel que es compasivo y misericordioso.

"With the Lord there is Mercy and Fullness of Redemption" (Psalm 130) It is good to return to Sundays in Ordinary Time with the hope of Psalm 130 that tells us that "With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption." Many times we emphasize the greatness and wonders of the Lord that we forget about God's fullness of redemption. The Lord manifests His majesty and glory in the holy seasons of Advent and Christmas, Lent and Easter that somehow we neglect to put our hope in Him who is compassionate and merciful.

CORPUS CHRISTI “Tomen este es mi cuerpo. Esta es mi sangre de la Alianza” (Marcos 14:22) Cada vez que nos reunimos a celebrar la Eucaristía, el sacrificio que hizo Jesús de su propio cuerpo y sangre, el sacrificio que todos estamos invitados a compartir, nosotros recibimos el preciosísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo. Por lo tanto nutridos con sus Cuerpo y con su Sangre estamos llamados a ser el cuerpo de Cristo haciendo presente su misión hoy.

"Take this; for this is my body." “This is my blood of the Covenant" (Mark 14:22) Whenever we gather to celebrate the Eucharist, the sacrifice Jesus made of his own body and blood, the sacrifice that we are all invited to share, we received the precious body and blood of Christ. Thus nourished with His body and his blood we are called to be the body of Christ making it present in our daily mission.
